The soft, filmic, light and airy aesthetic is a popular style for wedding and portrait photographers. The romantic feel and elegant beauty of this style is why the Pastel Pack was the second pack released as Visual Flow two years ago. Since the release, the Visual Flow team has been gathering feedback, testing the pack on more images and using the results to make improvements to the colors. They’ve also been testing the pastel presets on Lightroom Mobile and developing a dedicated set that encompasses the differences between the different formats.
As a result, they recently launched an important update to the Visual Flow Pastel Pack with the following changes:
- Dedicated Set of Pastel Presets for Lightroom Mobile
- Improvements to the colors for the existing presets
- New Red Tint Preset Replaces the Flash Preset
Dedicated Lightroom Mobile Presets
In this update, Visual Flow included a dedicated set of Mobile Lightroom Presets for the Pastel Pack. While the presets were already available for Lightroom Mobile in the previous version, they were optimized for RAW processing on the desktop application.
The new Lightroom Mobile Presets are designed specifically for mobile photography, created with images photographed and processed entirely on a smartphone. The result is a more refined, accurate, one-click look for mobile photography.
These are included at no cost to previous and future Mobile Pack purchasers. For those interested in the Mobile Only Pastel Pack, you can purchase them separately here.
Improvements and Changes to the Pastel Presets Pack
As mentioned, Visual Flow made improvements to the overall color engine of the Pastel Pack. In fact, they started from scratch and reworked the entire color engine for the pastel presets from the ground up, so virtually every setting is changed from the prior pack.

Red Tint Preset Included
In this update, all current and future Pastel Pack purchasers will receive the new Red Tint Preset as a free update. Red Tint is a new lighting condition that will give you a one-click, refined image for scenes with a strong red tint on your subject(s). Below are some pastel presets case studies for the use of Red Tint.
Red Rock/Late Golden Hour
Not all golden hour is the same when it comes to the color of light. During the later half of golden hour, the light can turn from an orange tint to a reddish or pinkish tint. This is especially the case when working in desert/outdoor scenes that are surrounded by red rock.
The Red Tint preset is perfect for these situations.
Red Color Cast (Brick Walls, Etc)
Practical lighting like candle and fire light can also have a hyper warm/red tone. Red Tint will also help correct skin tones for such a scene.
Other Scenarios
- Candle/Fire Light
- Dance floor with Red Lighting
“Flash” Preset Removed
Also, after extensive testing, Visual Flow decided to remove the “Flash” lighting condition. They will make this same change as they update other packs as well. The reason for this change is that flash can be implemented as a soft light, hard light, and even backlight.
Rather than simply applying the “Flash” preset, the best results have always come from using the lighting condition that corresponds to how you implemented the lighting. Removing the Flash lighting condition keeps the system more simple and intuitive. If for some reason users wish to keep the Flash Preset, save a copy before installing the new update.
How to Get the Updated Pastel Presets
All of the updates are available at no additional cost to previous purchasers of the Pastel Pack. Simply log into your DVLOP account, download the installer and reinstall your pastel presets.
If you do not yet own the Pastel Pack, you can purchase the desktop version (which also includes the mobile version) here and the mobile only version here.
