It’s one of the few times in the day when you have full control of almost everything, from the lighting to the background. You have the luxury to take your time and set up the perfect shot before the craziness of the day kicks in. Here are 10 tips to get better wedding dress photos.

Are Photography Workshops Worth It?

How We Shot it – Environmental Portrait with Singer-Songwriter Sabrina

This environmental portrait is part of an editorial assignment that I had for Sabrina Claudio, an up-and-coming young singer-songwriter from Florida. In an environmental portrait, the surrounding tells just as much of the visual story as the subject. The client also wanted the lighting to look natural, so the trick here is to add just enough ambient lighting to balance out the three Einstein monolight strobes that I used to light this image.

Gear Review: Why We Love the Pocket Wizard Plus III

Today we are reviewing the new Pocket Wizard Plus III. Not only did Pocket Wizard introduce a handful of improvements, but they also lowered the cost of the trigger from $179 to $139.

The improvements include an integrated antenna, LCD display with battery indicator, grouping function, 32 channels, and a stronger shoe.

There have not been any issues with any of our Plus IIIs. This is why we are big fans of Pocket Wizard. They make good, reliable triggers.
